Why is membership of the Lewiatan Confederation important to us?

The Lewiatan Confederation is an influential Polish business organisation whose primary objective is to protect the rights and represent the interests of affiliated employers.

Thanks to this membership, PW Krystian, as a Polish manufacturer of protective clothing, gains:

  • Access to law-making through participation in the organisation’s work;
  • The opportunity to conduct a dialogue with the state administration, which will translate into better conditions for the further development of our business;
  • Representation of our strategic interests in legislative processes both in Poland and in the European Union. Lewiatan is the only Polish organisation belonging to Business Europe and a member of Business at OECD;
  • A huge platform for exchanging views and experiences and establishing new business contacts, thanks to the concentration of

    over 4,100 companies employing over one million employees.

Active participation of PW Krystian in the Lewiatan Confederation Councils

By joining the Lewiatan Confederation, PW Krystian has become actively involved in the organisation’s work, delegating its representatives to key Councils:

  • Circular Economy Council (CEC): Our representative will participate in giving opinions on EU and national documents concerning the CEC and in the preparation and promotion of original solutions in this area. We are particularly involved in the work of the following working groups:
    • Group for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR): We will monitor and actively participate in discussions regarding EPR, the SUP Directive and the PPWR Regulation.
    • Deposit Return System (DRS) group: We will take part in meetings regarding the implementation of the deposit return system, collaborating with operators, introducers, commercial networks and recovery organisations.
    • Group for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Batteries (WEEE): We will share our experience and knowledge in the field of WEEE by cooperating with equipment manufacturers and companies dealing with its processing as well as recovery organisations.

Our Director of Research and Development, Magdalena Małecka, is our representative in this Council and in the ROP group. Currently, several dozen member companies from various areas representing the entire value chain (manufacturers of packaged products, packaging manufacturers, recyclers, recovery organisations, waste processors, municipal companies, the consulting and legal sector, and others) also take part in the group’s work during weekly meetings.

  • Personnel Directors Board (PDB): We will participate in meetings with representatives of administrations and authorities, presenting data and discussing the current situation in the labour market and the challenges faced by employers. Our activities will focus on preparing legislative proposals, consulting draft legislation and presenting good practices in the field of labour relations, employment and social dialogue. As part of the RDP, we will also be active in:
    • Competence and Qualification Council: We will work with other employers to develop recommendations for competence and qualification acquisition in Poland.
    • Diversity Management Council: We will share our experiences and support the implementation of diversity management strategies in other member companies.
    • Group for Foreigners: We will analyse regulations regarding the legal residence and work of foreigners and develop recommendations for the government.
    • Group for the Implementation of Directive 2023/970: We will work on the implementation of regulations regarding equal pay for men and women.
    • Group for artificial intelligence in HR: We will research and implement AI solutions in the field of human resources management.

Our representative on this council and on the 2023/970 Implementation and AI in HR groups is Anna Sikorska, Head of Human Resources and Administration. The main topics of her work will be issues related to giving opinions on the draft regulation of maximum temperatures and those related to matching educational courses to the needs of employers.

  • Tax Council: We will be involved in the preparation of projects aimed at improving the quality of tax law and creating solutions beneficial to entrepreneurs.

Financial Director of PW Krystian, Rafał Ożóg is our representative on this Council.

PW Krystian with a real impact on the business environment

Membership in the Lewiatan Confederation is not only a matter of prestige for PW Krystian, but above all a real opportunity to actively participate in shaping the business environment in Poland and the European Union. We want to have a real impact on changes, especially those in the field of occupational health and safety and the production of protective clothing. We are convinced that our cooperation with other members of the organisation will contribute to the further development of our company and the strengthening of the Polish economy.
